Referee Kevin Stroud decided Barnsley’s regular kit was too similar to Crystal Palace, so Barnsley were forced to don Palace’s away kit. Barnsley’s player name sand numbers were put on this new kit in time for the kick-off.
The match ended 0-0 which effectively ruled out Crystal Palace’s chances of getting a direct promotion spot. They will now have to content with the play-offs.
