As seen in the tweet below, not much is stated by Electronic Arts other than a reminder for fans to sign up for Battlefield Insider, which is the company’s newsletter for the release. However, the game publisher does say that news about the title’s previously announced open beta for the summer is eventually coming, but EA unfortunately didn’t divulge exactly when it will take place.

Although the aforementioned closed alpha test for Battlefield 1 is only taking place on the PC, it wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination if Electronic Arts eventually went on to make the public beta test available across all platforms, by including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as well. However, considering the fact that the publisher has yet to reveal any concrete news regarding the open trial, fans will have to wait and see whether or not the beta is exclusive to one system or available for all of its ports.
Nevertheless, with the shooter franchise being popular with the online crowd, Battlefield 1 fans ought to expect the open beta to focus heavily on its massive multiplayer gameplay. After all, should DICE and Electronic Arts wish to successfully support its goal of having up to 64 players take up space in an active virtual war zone in a World War I setting, the title will have to go through extensive trials.
In any event, while Electronic Arts hasn’t provided an open beta for a proper Battlefield 1 try out just yet, long-time fans of the franchise and excited newcomers alike ought to be comforted by the fact that our hands-on preview of the title at E3 2016 left us immensely impressed. With this being the case, should the final product of Battlefield 1 be even a fraction of the amount of the fun that developers showed off at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, then fans will more than likely be pleased with what DICE and Electronic Arts have in store for them come this fall with the official launch.
